Waiting now for some comments on www.northernsounds.com forums...Hey it might work fine, try and see. GVI can run great in standalone mode also. As usual, Giga / GVI are stable once you have the right combination of drivers / apps. I prefer going down the path of least resistance, as I prefer playing, as opposed to the caveman slapping on the sides of his CRT. Read the threads of sucsessful DAW's built @ www.northernsounds.com It has several similar beliefs using different combinations of apps, and hardware.

Does USINE run VST instruments? If it does, then you should be able to load GVI into it and use it as a standard VST instrument.
