UsineMsg is realy a strong stuff indeed. may need a lot of string manipulations; mixing IntegerToString and comma strings is sometimes tricky!
But I love this. Some parts of my patches are build or destroyed, wired or unwired. It's really cool.
All my 'time to time' data flows are now changed into IML: no data flow. I have to be very carefull with the patche's and modules's names.

You're talking about the busses, did you notice that they can be turned off?
Just put an 'HasChanged' on the 'on' inlet for the 'time to time' data flow. Needs one bloc to do the job, and then sleeps. Usine is definetely THE stuff.

If possible, I'm waiting for a more complete answer on the insert question, since it's my pb.

I uses it a lot, it's very cool. it's not recommended realtime, (also it's fairly capable of in many cases from what i tried), but better use buses if need constant values transferts, as you can imagine, but in your case it seems cool to go for iml.

don't know about inserts access, never tried. i guess senso could answer you about that.
did you tried to trace and look at the console?, it might help to know infos about the pb.
(but note it can be dangerous to send too much IML messages in a fast way and trace using the console,
wich can make cpu hogs text printing and can freeze usine, but it should be ok for few datas send once via a button)

I've been looking for that in the forums, but...
It seems to me that the UsineMsg module can send IML from insert patches (in or out) to any patch or subpatch in the tracks. Even when Audio engine and/or track is Off.
That's really great.
But I cannot manage anything from tracks to insert patches (with track and audio On!).
What do I miss?

Sub-question is: how are they calculated? Only when 'send msg' is clicked or each cycle?
Must be very CPU friendly for simple stuffs like on/off and any 'not really real-time' command and 'Pass if chg'-type flow!
