I used the Numerology AU plugin for this, because it can also output to the IAC Bus at the same time and is synced to Usine, because plugin, duh. (Also I have the Numerology Playlist assigned to Bar Quantization...For those of you who know N4)
I enabled the OSX IAC Bus in Usines Device list as Midi Input and assigned several Midi Messages to all the different sections. Grid Section Quantize is disabled, I let Numerology quantize the Midi messages to bar *itself*.
Now guess what... the Grid driven by a 3rd party plugin that sends Midi back via the OSX IAC Midi Bus has *no* problems, no clicks, no issues... just smooth as butter... What?
On the other hand: Before I had the Numerology Idea I tried to drive the Grid sections via an array list number through the racks, tried Mapped Values, tried modulating the Section Numbers manually via stepped automation, with Grid Quantize on, off, tried e-e-everything.. Didnt work.. Click Galore everywhere.... Hae?
tL.
(By the way, because Usine understands Midi Program Change Messages. I am now working on a Numerology Playslist with 32 Presets that send Program Changes 1-32, assigned to Usines Grid Section 1-32, so I can then just rearrange the presets in Numerologys Playlist. and even copy and duplicate stuff around. Also when doing it like this you can do section-sequences like 1-1-3-1-1-4-5-6 and so on, which is not possible otherwise and a lot of other funny stuff because of the nonlinearity of N4s playlist.... )

It is likely that you will get a *lot* of problems when recalling presets, transitions between sections, clicks, timing odness, synchro problems, dropped notes and so on and so forth.
You have to be prepared for that and have a "plan b" when stuff like this happens... And it *will* happen... Often...
And dont try to move sections around when you have more than three or four lines active... Believe me, don't... The grid will create a mess and you'll pull your hair out. I know I did...

I will try with different buffer size and will keep you posted.

I'm using two racks, not too complex, but not sure why I get this noises.
