You could do such a thing with a Loop curve set to 0 and put this small patch between the two markers you don't want to loop? Do you see the trick?

My favorite suggestion : a possibility to have "one shot markers" in sequencer use (with loop mode) like I explain you in old message. My second favorite suggestion : When creating marker near the begenning or the end of patch it will be interesting if new marker position is at the end or the begenning near patch in the time line ( if Object is selected in the ruler , OBJECT,grid,none).
