What do you have in your rack ? have you test this from an fresh empty workspace and with only an Fx patch in the rack, let say the first one, the delay analog.

even if the fader moves and is at correct position ( 0 dB) there is no signal getting into the rack. the VU meter in the input shows no incoming signal
when I connect the midicontroller again I get the input control going, the signal shows its activity on the VU meter. Accordingly it is actually present at the output.
this behavior is happening since many releases, can't say when it started happening
