probably is you'll run latency mon it will tell you the same.. or, at least it will point you where the problem is

what was the pb ?
I found out that the computer is idling except when you're in gaming mode. The only mode I know is USINE mode ! so I make a new turbo mode and voilà ! after an Intel chipset update, mister Music Computer is flying.

did you try the benchmark inside Usine (/setup/expert tab) ?
Yes I did
It was consistent with what was written on the computer 's box.
It is working fine now.

So now I can do some work on the user modules : I'm planning a release in August

IRQ being shared? This would be my first place to check and see.
Graphics card...
and...
Intel's wonderful controller chip if USB 2.0 for your interface.
I doubt RME would have this problem, a few years ago I picked up and A&H QU-32 with serious issues.
After they had no solutions, 2 days later and some USB sniffing I figured it out. Turned out they coded isosynchronous with Intel's chip.
No good because Intel knows this is a problem and is not going to fix.
If USB3, there is a possibility to disable XHCI/USB3 via motherboard bios if you run into.
I have also had success disabling USB3 from my device manager
on another computer. I doubt this is the issue because the overloads, but I've only had the one device instance.

Most likely I think IRQ sharing or your video card is the problem. Maybe check device manager by resources and look at if it's sharing with
anyone. I've had this several times in the past (not specifically with Usine though).

There's other stuff like throttling mods, core parking changes...but they usually have never been a problem.
Sounds like resource complaints.
Hope this helps!

previous computer : I7 4700HQ, Win8 - 16Go RAM - 1To HDD
new computer : I7 8750 - Win10 - 8Go RAM - 256Go SSD

running HH3 174

I did the benchmak on both computers, the new one is better in every aspect by at least 50% up to 300% !

Still, when I run the same basic patch (no VST, no user modules, no OSC, no MIDI) on each computer, I get a CPU usage of 9% on the OLDER one and 25% on the NEWEST one !

If I run the workspaces I use on my set, I am about 60% on the older computer and on the new one it just goes on CPU overload !

then I did
- the IRQPriority thing : same
- running with the RME MADI USB or the asio4all : samething

Thank you for any suggestions !

cheers
Olivar
