The pvTransp is made with a FFT Phase vocoder algorithm, which I think is is smoother. The main drawbacks are the cpu load and the latency....

I know that the pitch shifter can be improved, I'll try to do that later. You can also use the great and free pitch shifter VST called PvTrans. (the best free I found)

The pitch shifter patch do a good job but there is a lot of 'crack' if the pitch is change in real time during the audio in playing.
