For patching, use whatever source - random or cyclic or whatever - to generate some data that you connect to the tempo input of a master (or for that matter local) synchro module.

Another direction to explore is to play a midi sequence (in tempo) but with a jitter on the tempo: use a random data or a step data connected to the master sync tempo.
It gives a very interesting 'human' playing.

The simplest way to generate NoteOffs, is to patch in a MIDI Transformer and set length>0.

Voici quelques exemples réalisés avec Usine VST et des synthés virtuels. Avec la fonction random pour générer les notes midi.
Ici, avec un son de piano. C'est celui qui m'a posé le plus de problème, avec le flux de notes, il était en overload dès que je voulais une série de notes rapides.
