the only thing with "start pos" and "end pos" is that it doesn't seem very precise unless I am missing something, but it is displayed in %. If I could have it in bars/beats then it would be easier to cut long files between samplers.

Exactly, thanks! It's a bit of extra work but sounds like a good compromise for now I am also interested in live looping etc.. and the Usine's grid is quite an interesting approach for live performances, hopefully in the next version it will be possible to cut our wave files into sections.
