It's been awhile, but I was talking to a person the other day looking who was looking for a daw to use live. Usine would be a great fit for what he wanted. So we downloaded the latest the canned demo.wkp project is pretty basic. Just some drum sequencer and trumpet wave. Yeah - sure 15 minutes to le...

Since Usine can't handle the rapid sysex. Now the question is, I can use midi-ox or bome's to transform the sysex's into regular midi, note on's, CC, etc. Either seems light enough that I can load it without much CPU or memory load. But what's best to remap these to? What do people do with other con...

Thanks for the help. I gave up on the scripting as there's not much documentation and somethings just didn't seem to work. The good news is I got it mostly working in a patch. But What I can't get to work is the X/Y pad. I think the problem is Unsine isn't getting the midi fast enough. If I look at ...

Thank You. I got a basic script working. It just has the 4 data changing values as outputs. I'll rearrange the outputs to actually match those of the padKontrol. I just don't know the scripting language (pascal like?) so I'm not sure how to best do lookup tables other than brute force "if" compariso...

I'm stuck. After I put the padKontrol in Native mode it sends little sysex's for each pad and knob when touched. Push Pad 01: F0 42 40 6E 08 45 40 61 F7 Release Pad 01: F0 42 40 6E 08 45 00 40 F7 For every pad, knob, etc it will always be 9 bytes. with F0 42 40 6E always at the beginning, and F7 at ...

Anybody using, or have hints on use a padKontrol in Native mode with Usine? http://kpkproject.twoday.net/stories/3358632/ No problems sending sysex to put it in native mode and have it send data for all the pads and knobs, but what I'm wondering if anybodies gone further with processing the returned...

Hey I'm all for free patches also. I'm sure there will be plenty. Mostly "little", "simple", "my first patch" types available :-) But I'm really glad Usine allows for patch and scripts. It's very handy. Usine and patches doing what musicians need it to will the key to it's success. Keeping some thin...

I think Usine would benefit if there were someway to create a patch and "compile it" or somehow obfuscate it to protect it's intellectual value. Maybe this just isn't possible. I look at Usine as a platform, and it would benefit by many great minds creating addons for different situations and workfl...

Hi, I'm trying to use midi from an external app to drive Usine 3.340 I really wanted to get the external sync and MMC going, but it didn't seem to work and Usine reports: Error:Internal in BufferSwitchTimeinfo I turned off the sync/start in the external appplication and just had it send midi but I s...

Liveloops are crazy to figure out. You click on the keyboard icon under the "MIDI" light. This icon turns yellow. Liveloops is now on. When you send a Program Change X, it will switch to part X at the end of the current part (pattern). If the pattern is 4 bars it will switch at the end of the 4 bars...

Just an update. I tried Jamstix with liveloops with Reaper and it worked fine. (but I don't want a tool like Reaper - I just used it as a test.) I also set up VSTHostSS with Jamstix in it, and use Legree VSTi plugin to connect to it from Reaper. This also worked fine. I tried the same with Usine. As...

What about taking an approach like VSTHost Slavery Suite (But call it Owner-Member instead just because I hate this name) Create a VST like Legree - or use Legree (through cooperation) And then allow an instance or many instances of Usine to come up as a member. Usine doesn't change, it still can do...

Thanks - that works fine for me. Usine sure has a lot of cool ways to hook things up. Unfortunately, Jamstix is not well behaved in Usine. When Jamstix switches to another "Part Name" - it just stops playing. I see it getting midi, and it shows the beats being hit, but no sound comes out, or every f...

I could have sworn I set all those, in any case now it is working. Great! Thanks. And now another (quick) question. Jamstix needs a program change to switch between it's "live loops". What's a good tool in Usine to do this? I tried the "Create Midi Message" gizmo, but I wonder if there's a better ch...

Hi Folks, I'm going about this backwards, I want to use Jamstix so I'm looking for a host to use it with. I need something for live use, with a tap tempo. Usine looks like a very interesting host, but it is a paradigm shift for me. I'm having trouble getting Jamstix to work. Jamstix works with other...
