Re: Interface Builder eats the CPU
I tried some more things, and I get the same behaviour when: - all racks are minimised - the patch editor is open. - IB is visible I guess it's a GPU thing. Just wondering if there are any other M1 users that have the same issue? I must say it's already a lot better then on my former MBP i9, which w...

Top Header rearranging
I'm putting some preset managers from different racks in the Top Header space. The preset managers are in subpatches in the corresponding racks. When I unlock the workspace and re-arrange the different preset managers, they jump back to their initial position when I minimise or maximise racks... I t...

Interface Builder eats the CPU
I'm running a workspace and it's running steady at app. 12% CPU load. When I switch to IB view, the CPU starts ramping up to 30%, even when there's nothing on the IB page... Any suggestions on how to solve this? I'm running the latest Hollyhock 5.2.230411 M1- M2 edition on a MBPro M1 Max. Thanks in ...

Re: Ableton Link
Hi, just reviving this thread :-) With Renoise, Bespoke and Endlesss now supporting Ableton Link it would be really very handy to have Usine doing it too. My workflow now is sending Link from Bespoke Synthesizer to Usine over Midi Clock. At least it's more efficient than running an instance of Live ...

Errors in receiving OSC
Hi, I'm trying to connect my Muse headband (cheap EEG) with a software called mindmonitor to Usine with OSC. I get this error. I'm fairly new to OSC, but I don't get this error when monitoring the data on this computer in Ableton... Any ideas? Any help warmly appreciated! Schermafbeelding 2021-12-21...

Re: Ableton Link
+1 for Ableton Link. It's so easy to sync with other DAWs!! Would be great to see this feature in Usine too. For the moment I am running Ableton Live in the background just for the link, sending MIDI Clock to Usine. It works, but you need a copy of Live to do that and it's also a big waste of resour...

That's really great to hear! I was experimenting with the script but I'm running into an error converting the PianoRoll array to Comma text. Do you already have a rough ETA on the next release? I'm working on a project due 26 October... For now I'll try the OSX 'Automator' route again to get things ...

Re: realtime .mid file export
That's a good tip, thanks. Don't know if it's going to work out for me because I really need the standard the midi file format. The goal is to be able to visualize the contents of Usine's piano roll in musical notation. I want to open the generated midi file in MuseScore on the fly... I'm going to l...

Re: realtime .mid file export
Thanks @Senso and @oli_lab for your quick replies! Would be supernice to see this implemented in HH5! For now I'll try to find a clumsy workaround with some type of screen automators to achieve this. Or do you think of another solution that could work? Would it be possible with a script maybe? Thank...

I'm trying to export my recorded MIDI data in the PianoRoll as a .mid file.

EWI5000 + Usine + Live Coding + A.I.
Hi, I just did a performance with an extensive Usine setup and my trusty EWI5000. My friend is coding live beats and percussive sounds in Sonic Pi and Tidal Cycles. A 3rd computer is generating some musical 'answers' to my MIDI phrases in realtime with a machine learning engine (Magenta/Tensorflow) ...

Hello, I need some help... I am trying to save a random sample name and a text file with the same name. Hi and welcome to the wonderful world of Usine. Unfortunately I'm not living near you. But I can say out of experience you can opt for Usine over Audiomulch with your eyes closed. Get a tablet that runs Win7 and use the network options of Usine to open a 'remote' version of the patch (if it's too heavy for the tablet). @hesspet: I currently use the mapper value to map incoming notes to different ones. With the preset manager you can save exotic scales want and even make them dynamic (ex. Do you think it would perform less than a desktop-setup? Sometimes industrial servers are dumped at low prices and could make a difference to the wallet :-) If I could just run Windows or possibly Ubuntu for Usine, and use 1 PCIe slot soundcard, 1 for video... http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/proli...
