It's into an early stage but this multitouch infrared implementation could be a smart approach: radial lines instead of parallel ones:
ZeroTouch
The article says it has a high framerate (maybe little latency?)
I don't think it could be cheaper than existing ones but maybe more versatile.

I used the bitmap inlets/outlets between a pair of patches for displaying two plots into a single window. Everything is ok. but what if later I decided not to show both plots into a window? Relating to data calculations, just delete the wire between them. But how do I permanently "unchain" the displ...

Thank you very much for your smart analysis and advices ! ! I compiled the scripts, then used the scripts in the midipadayan patch (only for testing purposes), used the hook patched version too, and compared to the original midipadayan patch. The results are similar between the hook patch version an...

I created this two patches: Hook and Wirebox please see below: http://sensomusic.com/forums/uploads.php?file=wire_hook.JPG They are the simplest patches (only wires) but it may be very useful, surely many of Usine users have already created them into their patches. They consume very little resources...

Yes, it's a good idea, but linking matrix with a pianoroll works for me but just in one way in realtime: from pianoroll to matrix. If you try to send from matrix to pianoroll it won't behave nicely (at least for me). The array inlet of the pianoroll behaves erratically when receiving because it won'...

Maybe I'm naive but, why don't you convert the laser signals to especific pure tones? Mixed it up and bring it to usine through the sound input. Once the sound is processed , filtered, etc., you could convert every tone to midi notes, with intensity included. Not as elegant as your original project,...

Hi, About shift array module: The 'N' refers to the value of the 'shift' parameter. For example N=0 means there's no shift already applied. The array won't change. N=-1 means a negative value for shift. Each element of the array 'jumps' to the left position, in a chained way. The original first elem...
