I just uploaded this thing to 'add-ons'. Please let me know your thoughts as to usability, functions and if you have any ideas to improve memory/CPU.

Thanks,

Thanks cleverconqueso ( about this name, what happen to you with cheese, something when you you was young..? ;-) )
seriously, 2 little thought, maybe a little annoying thing for new users is that you don't have any sound first ( even with a vsti linked ) when you add your first notes, you need to save first..?
and no way to stop/play directly the sequences?

Clever is my dog. I needed a name for Facebook in a hurry and looked across the room at my dog and it came to me magically. As for Con Queso, who doesn't like cheese?

I'm with you on the 'why doesn't it play when I start clicking notes' question. I don't know what the right workflow is for that other than a live mode, maybe. I'll play with it. I also have to fix the colors and a default setting in the scheduler, both of which I managed to mess up right before uploading.

When you say - "No way to stop/play the sequences directly" do you mean, no way to stop the notes by pressing a button that pauses the matrix loop? How about a button that sends a midi off and bypasses the midi outputs of the sequencer? 'Mute' or 'silience'? Stopping the loop might be confusing since it will start up bar/cycle matched, so there will be a jump.

About re-uploading - When I click on 'change this add-on' on the add-ons screen, it scrolls down to the uploader but none of the information is pre-filled. Is the workflow to upload a new one with new comments and just delete the old one? I'd also like to fix the link to the Wiki page.

Edit - Hey! You fixed the WIKI link and the image too, I see. What was the trick to make the image come out right? I was using a PNG file, is that the wrong approach? /Edit

Thanks for looking at it. I've been using the sequencer a lot lately and I want it to be useful for others as well but I am worried that it will look like the inside of my brain rather than something that everyone can use.

the idea about stopping the flow was more to be more comfortable to edit the sequences , cause for a personal use i found the system a bit confusing, to save a sequence , you have to load it on 2 place and click save
i suppose could be cool to have a big 2 when we are on sequence 2, and if i decide to save it , on click on save must be enough..and so, do you see what i mean..? in a word : process simplification :)

about wiki wasn't me, maybe senso.
best way to create wiki page is to start from the patch , click on the ? in the patch

OK, I added the start/stop button and set it so you can either edit the matrix or view it which hopefully will simplify the user experience.
Please take a look and let me know your thoughts.
On the add-on's screen, there's a link to delete an existing add-on or modify it. My question above was about how modify works. I think maybe it doesn't which is not the end of the world since delete does so you can delete and re-upload.
Thanks,

That's better indeed, but for my use it's still confusing, if i work on the main window and click on "listen" nothing happen...ok it's because in the little window the loop switch is off..maybe better to have it in the main window..?

in the main window, there ( for my part) too much confusion too, edit/load/display...? maybe a way to simplify this..?
i imagine the big 8 button we have when we save could be in the main window , i click on 2 i see 2, can edit , then click on save if i need
you see what i mean..?

once again, it's you're baby and it's only my thoughts.:)

about the add-ons page , when you click on modify you can change only the picture or only the text ( I've add direct link btw ) or only the addon file ( but you have to use a different name )

I added buttons as you describe. It loses the 'live play' functionality but is more intuitive to use.
Still haven't mastered the art of linking to the forum and WIKI yet... (Sorry Senso)
Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

yep, really more intuitive this way, i think
I've just add a display number module from the slide to view fader in the pop up window.
This way even if you let the pop up open for a while, you always know on which pattern you work.

Image

a last detail i don't understand is the resolution you choose for the lines of LTR1 ..1024 is not easy to edit, but maybe there's a specific reason..?

I wonder if uploaded a different version. Mine has Image

And on the line resolution - I wanted to use it for long transitions like cutoff filter curves and since the user can specify many bars length, I figured the highest resolution would reduce notchiness. (Quantization) Plus its hard to exactly predict when a bar will begin and end on that UI, particularly at scale so I figured it's good for trends. Do I pay for the 1024 in RAM or is there a better UI I should look at? XY with memory?

of course , mine was just an idea for my use.
about RAM/cpu use , not sure but the more precision you ask , of course need more calculations

I'm confused - I think the '2' in your screen shot is the same as the '4' in the screen shot I put up. Same, no? Or am I misunderstanding?
