Hi Usiners,

just to say that i finally upgraded my Usine config from a 'poor and old' Core 2 Duo E6400 (2*2.13 GHz) to a Core 2 Quad Q9550 (4*2.83 GHz), and Usine work like a charm :)

On the old config, Usine CPU charge was about 70-80%, and it was very limit when i was recording about 9 tracks in real time (sometime, audio began to crack and glitch).

Now Usine CPU charge is about 15-20% with the same workspace
Well, a new world under my feet :P

Thanks Mr Senso
Thanks Usine

yep, RAM stay the same : 2Go.

However the CPU have lot more cache memory (12 Mo instead of 2Mo), it's help a lot.

It cost me approx 280€ :

219€ for the Q9550 (now at 190€...grrrr :( )
59€ for the microATX motherboard (Gigabyte GA-EG41MF-US2H) who can handle the beast.

Like Senso said, a 300€ update per year and you'r done !

Now it's time to make something with that ;)

It's also my philosophy : have a rack mounted PC which I update periodically.
