Hello,

the demonstration with the Wii remote really impressed me.

how does it works ? Is necessary to have the Nintendo consol or i just need to have the remote control ?

Is it necessary to point has a few centimetre of the LCD or, can I move on the stage and activate the effects in motion ? What is a raisonable distance ?

I am a singer and J will like to be able to choose an effect whith a simple clicking mouvement !

Is it possible or should i be frezze to change parameters ?

Thanks

yes , only the remote is needed , and you can remote any control by just one click

about distance , this works even in an other room for me ! so i suppose it must be enought !

Ok. Is that somebody already used the remote control during a concert ? A real experience on stage ?
Or is it a theoretical application ?

Speak about it and share a true experiment would be really nice...

Yes I use it with my band like a kind of theremin ... (the Wii for note on / pitch and the nunchuck for fx on/off and parameters)

you can look :

and

I'd say it works for 20m ok Be careful because if you go too far, it disconect from computer and then you'll have to reconnect it and and start again Usine ...

some questions:

- @gregmondo: do u use blue soleil (or another bluetooth connector) to recognize the wiimote as bluetooth device?

- just bought the wiimote motion plus addon (more precise 3d movement).
seems it doesnt work yet with Usine. also didnt find a glovepie script to try?

- how do u do with battery life? i use rechargeable batteries. doesnt last longer than 1-2h (can be very bad for live)

yes I use Bluesoleil and it's ok

for batteries I use rechargeables ones (quite new) but they last for hours ...

didn't tried yet the motion plus ...

the sure thing is the Ipod touch (or Iphone) is really more precise ... and it works with wifi wich means a greater distance and if it disconnect it will reconnect itself and you won't need to restart usine (if your wii disconnect because you're too far or what ever, you'll have to reconnect the wii and restart usine)

ok, maybe i have to try with better batteries.
maybe the motion plus addon is battery-hungry..
