Well, thank you, I thought the answer was something like that. So I'll wait a little more.

So, another question : is it necesary to have Windows 7 to use multitouch ?

yes, win seven is the only OS supporting Multi-touch
Thanks yan, so if I stay with XP for a while, is there a cheap monotouch solution ?

Hi stanlea, long time
There's lots of single- and even dual-touch tablets
And Win7 might not be what you need if, like me, you're eventually just going to settle for a VPN/remote desktop as a remote control for Win7 as a Usine control surface. I'm sorry to report I was so, so close to negotiating for a multi-touch tablet for use with Usine last Friday and couldn't quite get them to sell in small enough batches for our purposes. Honestly, I think this quest is pushing me towards just giving up on the whole idea.

Hi runagate, we were talking about you some time ago on KVR. Some folks there miss you, but I understand you're involved in a quest for the Ultimate Solution.
Actually I'm very happy with my audio cards, but there is not, and never will be any drivers for them under Windows 7. So I'm not really in a hurry to upgrade. After all, maybe a cheap tablet would do the trick for the moment.

the cheapest solution in monotouch is an overlay kit..was less than 100€ for a 17' screen 2 years ago
I know, but I wanted to keep my screen as it is and get a separate pad because my arms are too short and I prefer to have an horizontal action (not joking...). In this case, maybe a simple generic touchpad can do the trick.
