How to use automation, sequencer?

Hi, Im learning how to use the sequencer. In Usines´s description says that we can "Organize patches, sounds, and effects on a timeline with the sequencer mode. Create complex automation curves."
In the tutorial the examples are about wav and midi files (insert effects, drawing curves, etc) but, how I can organize my patches in the sequencer? (the patches that I use in the grid).
I want to create automation curves for the parameters in my patches.

different ways :

1
you insert your patches directly in the sequencer,
you open this patch by double clicking
you drag & click a wire from the control you want to automate
now choose user curve (sequencer)
now you have a user curve in the sequencer with the name of your control

2
you want to keep your patch in the grid :

add an empty sub-patch in the sequencer
open it and add a module send to data bus
name it
click & drag a wire from the inlet of this bus and choose user curve (sequencer)
now you have a user curve in the sequencer with the name of your bus
now in you patch on the grid choose the parameter you want control and add a get from existing bus

Thanks for the rapid answer. In my actual workspace I find more comfortable the second option.
Im organizing my first work this way: arrange snaps in the Conductor, automate in the sequencer.
Maybe to use the first option (insert patches directly in the seq) from start, I need to work only in the sequencer and not in the grid.
Usine is quite different to other DAWs and sequencers, and I need to know what I can do.

and yes , you're right, Usine is different and maybe we can provide a flow scheme for new users

I know that Usine is very "free", but some insight about how "power users" use it will be very helpful.
How to use it live seems straightforward, but the workflow for "composing" an entire track iss less obvious.

hello captain mission and welcome to the world of usine! Much of usines power lies in its freedom. IMO it is a musicians software. I would even go as far as to say that out of all the available modular softs on the market, usine is the most "musician friendly" which is probably because its developer is a real world musician. Within usine you can create any kind of workflow you need. One way to create a song is to first create your patches for each track of your song. For example a step sequencer controlling a sampler or VST or create a drum machine made from grain samplers complete with a complex sequencing and modulation scheme and then add some synced loop recorders to the outputs of your individual tracks/patches and record the loops of each conductor snap where each snap represents a section of your song that you "composed". Now you have perfect loops to import back into usine or into your traditional multitrack sequencer of choice. So in theory you can create an entire orchestra of patches and then compose a song by tweaking the interfaces of those patches and then snapping the modifications to the conductor. for example snap 0 = intro, snap1 = verse, snap2 = chorus, etc. It is like Lives scene scheme only a lot more versatile. Which IMO is one of usines strongest powers. I haven't really used the sequencer yet but I understand its benefit for sequencing on a time line. I hope this helps you out. I'm sure some power users will post their thoughts as well.

Hi, I just read in the manual that you can use a full version of Usine like a vst, receive/send audio and automate any control from your host. This software doesn't stop to surprise me : )
This option seems a very good one to render and complete the final "composition". If Im right I can make my patches, my workplace, and then play and record it in my host.
Usine has his own and particular sequencer, but for example a DAW like Reaper is very straightforward to arrange/mix audio.
