Usine and video file treatment

Hello guys,
I'm working on a performance melting sounds and video. For the sound part i'm ok using Usine, but for the video part, i was wondering if Usine can do the job ? I want kind of glitch treatment of the video or crazy other ideas ? I have basicly no knowledge about video treatment. But for example, Jitter from Max/MSP do things i pretty like.
So the plan is to use real time video capture and avi files.
Any advice will be welcome
Thanks

the video player has no treatment possibilities , you can try a square lfo on the draw mode inlet of the capture one but i'm afraid it's not really his job too...

If you're looking for glitchy stuff, maybe have a look at running vvvv, it's great for doing weird stuff and the price is right, but the learning curves pretty steep. I've just taken advantage of the sale on Resolume myself for some video stuff. I can also recommend MxWendler if you can't afford to buy at the moment. Get in touch with Heinrich and ask to be a beta tester and he'll probably help you out. It pretty much does what resolume does but the interface isn't as direct to use.
For realtime glitchiness it's probably worth putting the time into vvvv though, it does require a lot of effort but you'll get the best results...

Oh yeah! Forgot about touch designer!! It's a bit easier to pick up than vvvv too and does AWESOME stuff!!
That audiovisualizers list is kind of a blast from the past - I forgot about using coldcut's VJamm years ago!!! Have a poke around VJForums for more up to date info. This new app looks like it could be good: http://www.millumin.com/, but it ain't in beta till July.
Have a read of Sean's blog over here, skynoise, he know's what he's doing and it can be pretty inspirational. he's a nice guy too...

Oh yeah, if you need an NLE have a look at Lightworks, it's an open source video editor that's currently in beta. I haven't got my head around it yet, but it's supposed to be very very good...

hello,
Thanks for the Isadora tip !
About Resolume, i have few question :
first, i didn't find any midi set up ? where can i find it ?
then i tried to send midi notes to different video sample. and the midi note assignation in Resolume didn't correspond to usine piano roll. For example if write in usine ' s piano roll a C chromatic scale starting from C1, in Resolume, the sample set to C1 doesn't play ! it will play if i press C3 !!
how can i configure Resolume in order to have perfect midi matching between Usine and Resolume ?
Does Resolume respond to control changes ? how can i set this ?
thank u so much for your attention

just a tip, there's different standard about midi , a quick workaround is to use the script midi transpose before your midi out
have a go with electronika or puredata/GEM....

In resolume you can map midi note and control in mapping section (select edit composition midi map select a clip or a parameter and play you midi note or controler).
To configure your midi input go to avenue section and preferences. resolume can't output midi .
it's better to work with osc than midi between usine and resolume.

Maybe an addon based on the OSC Pack but dedicated to Résolume + vidéo Example can be a good idea..?
ok i understood the message
i try to do that

Thanks guys for yr attentention.
@Joffo : did u manage to match the pitch of usine piano roll and resolume (C1 trig a video sample assigned to C1 in Resolume ?)
I have never used OSC, is it easy to used it as MIDI ?
Did someone experience the same problem i had with the different midi pitch problem between Usine and Resolume ?

have you tried the transpose script before your midi out..?
i never try to send midi from piano roll but i know that resolume has an offset of 2 octaves.but it seems not a problem because is the same when you learn midi note.
Osc is really simple even i take a lot of time before understand how does it work.
you have to check ip config in resolume (10.0.0.127 by default), port (7000 by default), if your firewall authorise usine and resolume.
after that activate osc in usine and resolume (not in bundle mode) and try to send for example this message with osc send modul :
/layer3/clip1/connect then send the code 1
or layer3/clip1/video/opacity/values then send a modulation between 0 to 1 in the code 1
i hope you understood this little explains.
regards
