Hello,

My request is to be able to record midi loops or midi sequence on time. I'm using two tracks. The first is a 4 bar midi loop with a simple beat used as a metronome and the second track is used for the takes.

- the problem i'm facing, is when i press rec on the piano roll, i can see that recording doesn't start from the begining of a bar even if i quantize the rec button to "bar".

- When i did this test, what i have recorded doesn't correspond to what is played. the initial pattern is just quavers (croches) on 4 bars and the recording are quavers but not recorded at the right place within the bar.

- Is there somewhere an existing patch close to what i want ?, i just want to start a recording at the beginning of a bar in order to rework easily the takes.

Cheers,

Hello Nay,

I have just tested the super great new version and i made the same test as described above. It's better for sure but not perfect. After recording one bar filled with quavers, i have one semi quaver empty space at the begining of the recording. Therefore all the take is not accurate "barwise". I just need to edit a little bit to make it accurate. Do u think it will be fixed soon ?

Cheers

the accuracy of midi recording in usine seems to be good.
So maybe more a matter of patching, PianoRoll settings or setup/bloc size?
see the test patch http://www.sensomusic.com/forums/upload ... %20rec.pat

Is there any special trick for saving MIDI files when recorded in the piano roll ?? i have 4 bars recorded and i saved it. When i reopen it i have just the first beat of the first bar recorded ? Any trick there ?

Hello Nay,

i have just tested the RC4 version and i'm facing the same problem. I have recorded 2 bars with the piano roll, then i have saved it and finally reopen the midi file which was previously saved: the notes don't have the same length ! . Right now saving a midi file will change its length.
What am i doing wrong ?

Cheers

thank u Nay ! but it's not only the first note that are cut but the whole midifile. In other words the save as function change the whole midi file.
