low-cost/Free Synth VST Workhorse

Guys and Gals (but I'm guessing mostly guys),

I'm looking for a synth VST that does everything; I'm tired of having to use 14 different VSTIs to get the sounds that I want. I"m looking for something that that does everything from piano to strings to off-the-wall synth FX to fender rhodes and, lastly mellotron emulation. Does such a thing exist? I'm looking for something free or less than 100 USD, BTW. I'm aware this may achieved with soundfonts, but they're difficult to find, and are often of sub-par quality.
