Usine and Studio One, v2.0.5...

Hi,
after a long absence, I'm currently back to working with Usine and ran into a problem:
I created a patch in Usine standalone (5.70.035), and would now like to include it in a timeline in Presonus Studio One (v 2.0.5).
But no matter what I tried so far, Usine doesn't "play", the patch is driven by a masterSync node, and it seems that it simply isn't triggered or synced in any way to the host - it's just sitting there creating no output at all.
I tried all the synch options in Usine without any life signs...
The same patch in Ableton Live works as expected on play and syncs to the hosts timeline as expected.
Has anybody run into this and found a solution?
Thanks a lot for some feedback!
Cheers,
Tom

I'm not sure to follow you, you have created a VST with Usine and try to use it in Studio One...?
btw, any chance to try with last Usine version..?

Sorry if I was unclear.
I created a workspace .wkp with one patch in Usine Standalone (doesn't matter actually, it's just how I happened to do it
).
I then loaded that workspace into Usine VSTi in Studio One 2.0.5.
It doesn't play, the masterSync doesn't output anything when I play the song in S1. Just sitting there dead.
Same thing in Ableton Live, load the Usine VSTi into a track, load my .wkp into it. Works like a charm, plays back as expected.
It looks as if S1 doesn't "talk" to Usine?
I'm not on Usine "subscription" ATM so for the moment I'm stuck with 5.70.035 (I don't use Usine enough to need the new features).
Or is that a know problem with exactly that version?
I guess I could download the free version and see if it does something in S1...
Cheers and thanks,
Tom
Edit: seems the free version can't be used as VST...

ok, so if it's works in Ableton, the problem is more in Studio One..
maybe try an other VST which can receive a synchro to see if the problems is the same
i don't know this host, maybe a midi routing help in the manual.?

I've had this problem recently when I was trying out harrison mixbus. Basically it seems theres no 'start' being sent to the master synchro? I haven't got Studio One so I can't compare it to what happened with mixbus, but I sent an email to harrison and they said they'll fix it in the next release which might indicate it's the hosts problem, and not Usines?
I found that Glitch vst (or anything that had a sequencer - audio damage axon, big seq etc) wouldn't sync either, so maybe give that a try to isolate whether it's usine or the host? I found that tempo synced plugins like delays etc seemed ok, it was just stuff that had a sequencer.

Ok, did a quick test with Plogue Bidule inside of Studio One and its sequencer seems to work as expected.
As far as midi routing is concerned: I didn't expect to have to do any midi routing for a VSTi? What would I route where for that?
Shouldn't the basic VSTi-clock work without that? Or is Usine relying on some kind of midi information for syncing to the host?
I remember from my plugin-writing for Usine, that there is the VSTinfo->samplePos available in the SDK, and I would have guessed that this kind of information is used for syncing Usine to the host?
Does anybody have more information on that?
It would be great to ask more pointed questions on the S1 Forum than "Usine doesn't work".
If I would know what exactly is missing for Usine to work, I could be much more precise...
There's a free demo here: Presonus Studio One if anybody should be interested to give it a try - it's a rather brilliant host.
Thanks and cheers!

Just to clarify what I am trying to do some more:
The workspace I created in Usine is a self-generating soundscape. It only relies on the masterSync node for timing and everything else is generated by my AoN_Usine random plugins that feed into VSTis and effects etc.
Since I am using "Diversion" for sound generation which takes quite some resources, the workspace got too heavy for recording it with Usine itself, since as far as I know there is only the realtime output available, no classical "freeze" or "baking" of the audio in non-realtime.
So I thought I open the workspace inside of my host in Usine-VSTi and try freezing it there. And as I wrote, it worked as expected in Live, I was able to write out the very heavy workspace without glitches correctly to Audio.
But my first try had been doing it in Studio One and there I stumbled upon the whole thing not working.
Since I like Studio One a lot these days, I thought I investigate
Thank you all for your input and help!!!
Cheers,
Tom

Thank you so much Nay-Seven!
ok, so i first try the free version, but no way for VST, so i switch to the demo one and here how i configure my track
you need to activate the blue read switch then the green power , works here with bassliner patch, start and follow Studio One tempo.

Wow, you are a genius!!!
I would never have guessed that this could do anything for Usine, since it is for reading and writing automation data.
Learn something new every day
Superb! Thank you so much!

Is this the same in other hosts or how did you find this so fast?
Now this should be a killer combination - S1 with its straight forward and very easy to use timeline approach and Usine for the generative and deeper sounddesign things.
Cooooooool
You guys rock!

No, generally synchro is most often automatically send , but I've spent a lot of time to beta test softwares so i suppose it's help
