hi,

after a long break - caused by my dayjob of course - i'm back building with usine and enjoying every second of it. i'm also catching up with all the updates which seem to bring me even more joy.
simultaneously i'm reminded of some small things that caused me headaches earlier on. the first thing i'm ready to ask about is related to the aux sends:

what i have is one or two channels with the aux send 1 open and one track with it's input changed to aux 1, hence receiving what is sent from the other channels. a quick empirical test seems to show me that the send works only for tracks that are BEFORE the receiving track in order.
am i correct with this or am i missing something?
if i'm correct, is there a certain reason it is this way?

for your information, i'm currently working on the 3.05b, didn't want to go into the 3.10beta yet.

thanks, keep up the good work!

You're correct.

It is this way to avoid feedback loops which could kill your speakers, phones or ears quickly! I reckon it also simplifies the internal routing somewhat, although you can create as many virtual sends and receives as you want using the data busses - sending audio or other data practically all over the place. Of course that can also give you unwanted feecback loops if you're not careful...

I did a search in the manual, and this isn't mentioned anywhere. It's maybe worth a mention, since this obviously creates some confusion. Any comments, Olivier?

I ran into the same problem today and noticed that the sends only work if they are before the recieving track, so I thought I bring up this topic again. Bsork, I understand your argumentation to avoid feedback loops and of course creating virtual sends is easy. But after all my own opinion is that this is a bit "against the philosophy" of Usine to let the user decide what he wants to do.
