Is there anyway to dynamicaly change the color of the balls on the XY pad ? I can't find an inlet to do it...

Maybe with IML?

Dynamics change of colors in Usine are cpu intensive in Live situation, so actually no inlets for this.

Maybe there's a UI improvement there to be done, it should'nt be that CPU intensive to change a color! ;)

But that's no priority!

I think usine currently doesn't have a sense of 'UI colors that won't change' and other kinds of colors.

It struck me as weird too, when senso first told me that color flux is CPU intensive, but if you think about it color is something that needs real time priority. If a button is clicked, you need to flash another color and you need to do it instantly for it to feel natural. Likewise if colors change in the flux you need to display those changes immediately. It might seem trivial but the color input needs to check its flux for changes at every draw cycle.

Add in the fact that Usine should one day work with video as well and it becomes a bit more clear why colors are so intensive -- in order for them to be useful, they have to be instant. I hope that clears things up a bit.

@senso, any progress on the color bus concept?
