Hello all. I am still very new to Usine. Just purchased it yesterday. One of the my tries was to run my favorite VST plugins in Usine.

I like to play with all kinds of sequencers, for example the Sequencer Megababy plugin from Reaper which can be downloaded for free with their free plugin collection - or the Monoplug B-Step sequencer. http://b-step.monoplugs.com/

They load well, but for some reason I cannot get them working by pressing the play button. It is as if they are missing some signal or impulse that they can start sequencing when I press play. Before I am going to try it with more different sequencer VSTs, I want to ask if there is a special trick that I must apply to get midi data out of this kind of plugins?

It seems to be no problem to control b-step with my launchpad. Usually it should start working when I press the play button in my daw, but here it is not the case.

Best regards.

Hello magickz and welcome
you're right, the synchro don't start with this plug in ( other sequencer like step machin for example, woks fine)
Don't know if it's a limitation of the demo version but in its setup i can change the master synchro to slave..?
have you try this..?

we'll investigate anyway

Hello Nay-Seven,

thanks for the answer. I guess that is the reason. It is not a demo version.

On the KVR website I can read their specification: "MIDI Clock master (up to 400 BPM) or slave (standalone)."

So, I also asked on the Monoplugs forum for their advice. As soon as I know a solution I'll report it here.

If there is no other way, maybe I better stick with some of the really nice Usine sequencers :)

Best regards, Martin

of course, it's a good idea to test and create your own sequencer in Usine, ( you can also find some good ones in the add _ons tab ) but this issue with the B-Step plug-in will be solved in the next release.

Thanks a lot!

I must say, after playing around with Hollyhock for a few days, and working through some chapters in the manual, it becomes quite addictive - and a great modular environment for my favorite modular synth. :)

Hello Nay-Seven,

I want to confirm that the latest update solves this issue with the B-Step Sequencer successfully. Thank you very much! That is very great. And I begin to love the Usine features more and more the more I understand how to make my patches. Now I can use them in combination :)

Edit: I took a few minutes time and prepared a short instruction for absolute beginners, to post it in the monoplugs forum. Here it is:

Best regards.

P.S. I do not know how to do it, but now you can change the topic headline into "Sequencer VST Plugin in Usine working great"

Thanks for the excellent support!
