IAC MIDI problem; help?

Hi, I'm a brand-new user, on a Mac (10.10.5, seems to be working fine on its own), just working with the demo so far, and can't seem to get MIDI out even though I've got IAC switched on in the MIDI Out panel. This is working with other apps, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this in Hollyhock. Any suggestions very welcome; thank you!

Can you upload a screenshot of your patch? You need to have the IAC MIDI out device in the output section of the rack, as well as having everything wired up properly.

Ah, hello and thanks for the reply! Actually just last night I had a blinding moment of insight with the User Manual which has solved my problem: I spotted the idea that one has to actually drag an input or output device into the project or rack for it to be active. I'd been assuming that if the IAC driver was seen, it'd just work, as in e.g. Reaktor, if MIDI was being generated. Now that I've done that, all is well—thrilling:)
