Is it possible to imagine a new module witch do the same job that Pitch and Speed in the GrainSampler Module ?

I mean to change the pitch and speed of the audio in with the possibiliy to play it in real time.... ?

The pitch shifter patch do a good job but there is a lot of 'crack' if the pitch is change in real time during the audio in playing.

The problem of the real time stretching is that you cant play a sound faster than in comes. (cant play a sound which is not recorded yet!).
You can make good stuffs with the actual grain sampler: cross fades between realtime grain samplers to create a kind of 'stretch illusion'. I do that often.

I know that the pitch shifter can be improved, I'll try to do that later.
You can also use the great and free pitch shifter VST called PvTrans. (the best free I found)

OK thank you Olivier. I will try to crosfade betwenn realtime grainsampler and i'll try too, this free plug.

Of course it is impossible to play the sound faster than it is .... But perhap's slower with a buffer record ... If i have time i will try to do something with the buffer record in grainsampler....

play a sound slower is easy now with the circular buffer mode in the sampler.

Hi Olivier, do you have a link to that PvTrans plugin? The closest thing I could find was a library function with that name, so I guess the plugin uses that..?

hi moody33,
your pitch shifter is cool but very close to the Library one. I mean made with a granular re-synthesis.
So it introduces a 'smearing' (grainy sound) effect for Hi pitches.

The pvTransp is made with a FFT Phase vocoder algorithm, which I think is is smoother. The main drawbacks are the cpu load and the latency....

Thanks for feedback!

You've right : it do not a good job for high pitch, but it do a good job for real-time modulation !

It's not the best pitch shifter , but can help us sometimes !
