Just wanted to add my own thanks here for this software, and the effort that's gone into making it. It's also nice to know it has a long history, and won't be going away any time soon!

I'm going to be using it live as part of a duo doing original Contemporary Christian electronica/rock, and while I'm still trying to wrap my head around some of the capabilities, I've already got it to a point where I'm ready to use it live.

I'll probably have some questions (I think I'm using it a little differently than some here), but I'm looking forward to seeing how Usine will alter the way I make music.

Oh, and while I'm currently using Windows, you can add my vote for the Mac port! :-)

Thanks again!

thanks steve,

For me it's very fun to know that you use Usine in different (and personal) way. They are many possible utilisations of this software:

- multi FX with VST,
- live and sampling workstation,
- sound diffusion,
- audio router,
- compositional tool (sequencer mode),
- theatre (conductor mode)
- ???

I do my best to improve Usine, trying to implement all the suggestions.
Of course, we don't care about the music style, rock, electro, jazz, contemporary, etc.
Feel free to ask any questions on the forum.

The problem is that the Apple strategy is not very clear. I don't want to be completely dependent of Apple's decisions: rewrite the software only because they change the OS, (like from OS 9 to OS 10), or spend two months to adapt Usine for a new processor (like G4 to Intel).
Also because, many MAC users, use Usine with Windows installed on the new Mac book pro (with Boocamp).

Of course, I know that I?m currently totally, dependent of Bill Gates?for me almost the same than Steve Job...

Finally, I'd prefer to spend time to create a Linux version, and make real "political" action(?)
But I can't do that alone.
We should do that altogether, all artists, musicians.

Indeed *applause*

I personally am using Usine as a modular voice-to-VST instrument as well as an automated effects mixing desk which changes settings according to song part changes.

Again thanks for the great software, I've been able to experiment with fractal generated midi and capture audio outputs for loops and drones. The waveplayer has proven to be such an friend providing my "live" musician (my pre-recorded guitar lines).

I can't wait until we can upload our material onto this forum. I'm hoping we can share our ideas and patches, maybe a video of our live performances would be interesting, what do people think?

share our ideas and patches
I'll create a new topic in the forum very soon to share ideas, and discuss together.
If you are premium member, you can already share your patches in the add-ons section (add a new patches or workspaces, sripts, etc.)

For the real "artistic" page (mp3's and video's exchange), I need time, beacause it's complex for me: PHP, database, etc.
Be patient!
