Hi guys !

I'm a new "futur" user of Usine pro.

I'm a fan of Reaktor and i think Usine can be wonderful for me (sorry for my crappy english , i'm french and the school is so far now... :) )

I first lookin' for a Lemur (i have a monome 128 and Audiocubes from Percussa, i'm always lookin for a new way to make music.)
But it's a little bit overpriced for me...

And i discover Usine! (i think it's a little bit under exposed, make more videos, with each add-on for example... :) )

First question (but not the last!) :

What good tablet Pc for Usine? the minimal spec/performance (i want use it like a Lemur for Live and make my own control)?
i'm lookin for a Used Dell XT Tablet (650 euros) but 1,2 ghz scare me a little...

Have you some suggestion? my budget(is the good word?) is around 600-700 euros (no problem for used gear/Tablet)

Hope you help me :)

See ya !

Ps here my myspace if you want see some videos/tracks : http://www.myspace.com/fractaldeath

Tant pis...

On verras si ça marche bien avec le Dell xt(vu qu'il gêre le multitouch).

A+

hello and welcome

sorry for the delay but it's really not easy to answer...
there 's not a good tablet for Usine , but maybe a good one for you...
depends on what you need..maybe depends on your soundcard too
my first impression will be to say 600/700 euros...maybe not enought , cause it's the price of medium normal laptop now...
you talk about an used one , maybe ask to test it with Usine if you can...?

Thank you Nay-seven for the info :)

I'm going to wait a little and buy a HP TX2Z ( very comfortable performance,2,4ghz 4gb,multi touch.the dell xt scare me with 1,2ghz...)

I successefuly fighting my computer...via Midiyoke(with my cubes software and monome software...to sync all this mess :what a party!)
And i started create some pretty cool things to control Ableton(synth/sample start totally crazy etc etc... :) )

Definitively a powerful beast, not easy to learn it, but SO POWERFUL !

I can't wait have my tablet i buy the pro version to explore the add-on and the beast

I have a little question... when i create a switch(mute/unmute a track on Ableton Live) i have to Click twice for mute or unmute...is normal or i miss something(well i'm pretty sure ,i miss something :) )

And sorry for my bad english, sometimes one would say i'm like Borat...writing :)

Bye all !!!

cool for the HP..
for your last question , depending of how you're patching your mute switch but you can add a toggle ( event control) just after your switch..

Hummm i'm going to try this.

But i have some latency too (i use Usine like a Dream remote for ableton Live)
When i push(click with the mouse for the moment :) ) sometimes i have to click twice and sometime one push is good but with latency...
In the message center of Usine i have sometime in alternance : OUT:?
i have put midi out 1 to midiyoke 1
and midi out 2 to None

maybee this?

Other question, i try to build a X-Y to control my filter in Ableton but i don't know how i have to build this....if you have some example for me(i'm a super noob in building patch, i try my best...)
,thank you ;)

don't think there is a link with your midi ports... ,don't know...

for the second question : xypad module , to the X outlet , add a multiply module ( maths: a*b ) and use 127 for b
and link this to a data 2 of a " create midi" module ( of course choose "control change" and the number of your midi controller )
link it to a midi out module

do the same for the "Y "outlet

and for finish , add a " has changed " module ( in control events ) between the X outlet and the "create " inlet of the midi create
do the same for the Y...

hope it's clear enought...

your picture is not easy to see but seems that no " has change" and others..

here how i see your wish : this way , you have 2 controllers , one for X , an other for Y :
