yes that's nice.
it seems we are a few here using ableton live, we could make a thread for sharing our ideas?.
if you interested in Ive made a clip laucher with scroller that display the status if the clip is loading/what clip is playing, very efficient.
it also can take incoming midi notes to make the clip cell blink as the sound is hitting (electibe like).

ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC !!! (but i'm a beginner in usine for the moment i use generic patch or some very basic patch...maybee with time...)

And yeah, a place to share some ideas/patch for Ableton(or other software) can be pretty cool

Ps: if you have it 23fx23 ,your patch can be a 'must have' for me

fractal i ll try to clean it up a bit tonight and make it more modular. Ill post a "beta" version very soon in the week, i think you may like it indeed.. Im a beginner too, but i like usine so much im on it every night, and so thingz start to enter in my head...
the only sad think I miss is to get ableton clips names and color, but anyway I guess it would be weird to translate in midi.
gonna wait a bit Live8 and a special MaxMsp for live will let us take what we want from ableton and send to usine I hope.
but I found a workaround making a screen capture and using bitmap fader so still a little bit boring to set up but I can have a "mini" view of live screen... I ll try to go fast to finish it an post it with pic and explain, even If you don't "master" usine it should work as is...

yop fractal , i had few, (and still have) little issues to fix that took longer than i thought but i can give you an example image easy since senso added the uploader: should be in the add on next week:



(the interface for ableton live im working on.)

it's a 8x5 clip matrix and scenes laucher with scroller, mute, solo, launch/stop per track, A-B crossfader assign and play position fader.
clips cell blinks relating to incoming midi notes (still a bit buggy, sometimes it inverts cause don't catch a note on/off..)
and in the upper part if you have enough patience you can make a screen capture of the session view, crop each track and save as a jpg, then it will be kind of "mini view" of name and colors of live's clip.(here i only made one jpg for test), and two list box let you see what clip is playing. Imade few subtilities like when you press solo on a track, all other become grey, or if you mute a track it also goes to grey, but still an overview of the content blinks. I also used the great tab technique so if you press "clips" on top you see that screen, if you press fx it will tab to a blank screen where you can put all your fx personal remote objects.
scroll max 100 scenes x 8 tracks = 800 clips access (hope it's enough lol)
as I broke my touchscreen I would reaaly enjoy If you could make me then a review, and why not, a vid?(if you ll have time...)

senso : i can try to make a video, unfortunately i need to use my mouse !!!! (that's why i asked fractal, but I'll try to make a vid this week end, I think it needs to be seen as a video this i what I was dreaming of since years, with your great soft it has been possible and self made, thanks again Master senso)

ethnix: I will try to make a simpler more modular basic setup for non live users. (actually each cells/ lot's of events/ updates via receveing live midi infos) i will make a simpler module that send two info: cell number/track number ie 80 - 02.
or tell me what are you interested in..

cool if you like it, I try to speed as much as I can to make it "clean".
credits to martignasse and clearscreen for the tabs technique wich is based on the tab pannel example in add ons.
I was just wondering if my A-B- sw weren't too small if using fingers, but i think it's ok.(that's what I wanted to be test with touchscreen, also with mouse I can't trigger many clips in a fast way, would like to check if there are no bugs when speeding)
Once finished I hesitate, should I advertise it on ableton forum, (yeah maybe lots of abe users could be converted to usine...since they are all waiting APC40, and this patch is kind of emulation of it.)
should we advertise usine or not too much?

Ableton forum users wait a lot the APC40.
The price range for the APC40 is 399 dollars on Novamusik.com to 449 euros on Thomann...

And on APC40 i can't put bouncing balls to control my Effects!
I can't wait your patch! I imagine a lot of "configuration" with.

When you finish the patch(and if you want too) , i'm goin' to make some propaganda too on Monome forum ah ah ah...
They aren't a lot of alternative like this Patch: Apc40 or Jazzmutant Lemur...and not the same price too...
