64 bit Usine??

Just wondering if this is on the horizon or not.
Among the plugins I'm hosting in Usine is Kontakt. I'm upgrading to version 3 which is 64-bit compatible, and I'm wondering if Usine will do 64 bit now, or will later, or doesn't even need to at all?? I'd like to be able to load more samples--I'm maxed out on RAM now, and I'll be getting a bunch more libraries.
How is memory allocated to Usine and to the plug-ins it hosts?
Any pointers to a good FAQ about 64-bit and audio would also be welcome. My soundcard is the hammerfall multiface, and it seems to be fully compatible.
Thanks for any clues!

two ways of thinking the 64bis version
1) a real 64bits engine
2) a 32bits engine coupled with a 64bits memory manager to expand the memory above the 3Gb.
Usine version 1) is ready as a prototype but:
- the CPU load is 30% higher than in 32 bit
- each sample take 2 times more room in memory.
so not really interesting
the version 2) is in study state but we have to wait for the generalization of 64bits Windows.

This is worth checking out...it will let you load a 32 bit vst in a separate address space from the host.

what do you mean by the generalization of 64 bit windows?? Are there further developments you are waiting on??
I am also mostly interested in 2) above--I'd just like more memory..... and I am pushing the limits of the processor already.
I'm also wondering if it's possible to address more memory than I have currently with a 32bit system. I have 2 GB now. Maybe I could squeeze a few more samples in if I add another gig?? Not sure exactly how much 32 bit windows can address, but I've heard there's no point in going to 4 gig.
thanks!

32bit windows will see up to 3GB as available to the system - i've got 4GB in my laptop and XP only "see's" 3GB of it. given how cheap ram is, it might be worth getting an extra 2GB chip put into get the extra 1GB of sample space. i've heard stories of 32bit machines being hacked to access the upper 1GB ofmemory but i've never actually come across HOW you actually do it...
We have to wait until the Windows 64 is generalized.

Hi Guys,
I'm a little confused about this whole 64 bit business. Up until last week, I only had a 32 bit computer...
I have bought an HP touchsmart tx2z. What is the general wisdom? Do I put on 64 or 32 bit windows 7 on it? Can 32 bit apps work on a 64 bit OS and if so, is there a performance hit in the translation to 64 bit drivers?
Thanks,
James
