hi
one of the few things that annoys me about usine are the loading times on startup or on workspace saving/loading?
what to do to load usine faster? wasnt there something about the 'French Quick Start'?
long loading times: what to do?
On my system it happen with some vst's (ie: Reaktor+Carbon).
No real solution except try to get liter wkp.
Remember that the master section is independent from the wkp.
So you can put in the master section very big vst's (Altiverb, etc...) so they are loaded only once at the startup of Usine.

tkx for the master effect tip!
above all usine loads fast compared to cubase or other daw's.
cant resist to nag that soft like energyXT (2s), phrazor (5s), synthedit or bidule seem to load its core elements much faster. instead of nagging I might as well admire the quality of these music apps, of course. which means even more quality in other parts for usine, or I would not use it all the time lately

i know what you mean about energy loading fast, but i's nowhere near as capable as usine, and the new version is hopelessly buggy as far as i'm concerned - a real shame where that's gone... don't use phrazor or synthedit, but bidule takes ages to load on my machine!! maybe i've got it set up wrong?
agree, you cant compare energy with usine.Clearscreen wrote:i know what you mean about energy loading fast, but i's nowhere near as capable as usine,
very true. while 1.x was an innovative+elegant app, v2 became an ordinary, boring audio daw among dozens..Clearscreen wrote:and the new version is hopelessly buggy as far as i'm concerned - a real shame where that's gone...
with minimal configs bidule starts like a breeze hereClearscreen wrote:don't use phrazor or synthedit, but bidule takes ages to load on my machine!! maybe i've got it set up wrong?
usine is not a slow loading program of course. and I should see it in different audio setups running to be able to judge.
still I wonder what can cause long boot loading time? how could you speed up loading usine (and an empty workspace)?
- thousands of vst .dll's would be one possible cause (I guess, usine scans all vst entries, new entries take longer)?
- thousands of patch files? thousands of sound/midi files?
thanks.
for info:
preset and bitmaps can take a longtime to load.
vst's aren't especially longer (or just a little..) compare to other DAW.
waves can be long if you load them in the memory.
