I've set up TouchOSC on my ipod Touch and I am having trouble getting it to communicate with usine.

I've set my ipod's IP as the source, and my desktop IP as the destination. with the appropriate ports set up on both ends as well. I'm using an ad hoc network to connect them, and my firewall is turned off.

I'm not really sure what options i have left...

I plan to get an Iphone for Christmas.
So hard to help you until the end of the year.
But when you open the osc-setup and you activate the 'display messages' option, can you see incoming messages from the ipod?

Hi eimhin, i'm not sure about your specific problem, but i thought this program http://www.postlude.co.uk/Software/Braun might be helpful to you.

i have noticed usine seems to do some strange things when i've tried using OSC with it - but i haven't worked it out enough to mention anything to senso yet. i *think* that if you're connected to a lan network it can mess with the way usine see's OSC, but like i say i'm not sure yet. last time i fiddled with it it appeared that when i was connected to my wireless network usine wasn't seeing ports above a certain number and was using the wireless IP but as soon as i disconnected the wireless they became available and the standard (i think...) localhost of 127.0.0.1 started being used by usine and everything seemed to start working as i believed it should - i could be wrong about all of this though!!

Ah Yes! I've noticed that one moment I loaded Usine, OSC setup registered my local IP as my wireless IP. Another moment I loaded it, and usine registered my local IP at 127.0.0.1.

I'll try loading usine and OSC setup, and then turn my Iphone on, initiating the ad hoc wireless connection, and see if I can get it working.

right now my ports are set at 4000 and 8000. Should I try a lot smaller?

sorry i can't remember what ports i was using at the time - i have a feeling anything above 8000 was not gettng through, but not really sure so you might just have to try and see... sorry i'm not more use there!

normally you don't have to configure the port number or the IP.
It's made automatically by Usine.
If you see osc messages incoming in the osc-trace of the setup. you will be able catch all of them.

thats kind of the problem though - usine sometimes doesn't seem to see the OSC messages, but i haven't played with it enough to work out why or what the situation is exactly... when i do you'll be the first to know senso :)
