I'm trying to use cakewalk music creator as a simple midi sequencer that sends midi signals to usine standalone (like a rewire thing but simpler) as a way to totally avoid using the cakewalk's vst sound engine ( every new version gets more and more problematic with multicore load balancing, etc).
In other words, I'm planning using usine as a huge multi timbral/multi fx module. For usine it would be the same whether you use sonar or cubase or reaper. Just use usine to create the enviroment you want (audio and midi mixer, sounds, effects, vst, ) and you are done.
In a basic way it works good for me and it lets me use the usine engine with total freedom. But sometimes the sequence loose sync with the host, or get problems with stuck notes, etc. Is there a way to avoid this and not being forced to use the (recommended) Usine vst version? or maybe a way for 'resetting' all the notes and sounds inside usine everytime the problem arises? something like a 'quick reload' of a project?.
