Hi,

I did search the site but couldn't find an answer:
I struggle with aligning gui objects properly , so I would like to use either a grid snap or some other form of snapping to borders/sizes/guides/rulers...
Is there anything similar in Usine?

How do you guys go about it?

I'm sorry if I missed something obvious...

Thanks!

Thomas

when you 're in unlock mode just show the grid, use a different (generally bigger) grid size (depending of your layouts) and click on the background of your patch to refresh , this will be more easy to adjust your control then.

Ah - I found it now, but the snapping behaves rather funny - all controls seem to jump around when I move something?
It's not snapping while I move a border but after I release the mouse, but somehow with a mind of it's own.

Thanks a lot, I'll test further.

Cheers,

Thomas

I find I have to turn off auto resize to keep things from skipping around this way. In the grid, you need to turn it back on once you have everything laid out. Also, I do not nest any controls in containers because when you move a container around, the relative positions (and sometimes even the sizes) of child elements often shift. Again it helps to turn auto-resize off on child containers, but the problem still happens pretty regularly....

This works for me, but I hope one day Senso can track down the issue that makes things 'wander' this way.

Thanks a lot woodslanding - I have to try this!
Coming from graphics software where pre-mouse-release snapping is mostly a given and things had a long time to mature, I have a hard time with Usine in this respect ;-)

Thanks for the hints guys!

Cheers,

Thomas

some grid snapping could maybe be the answer here to stop the elements to "wander"about:)
