I've been with Usine a few weeks now but primarily in patch / grid mode. Been meaning to get to the sequencer, which I opened today.
It looks like the only way to place a patch on the time line is via the browser ? Wondering if this is correct because if I create a patch(es) and then want to arrange them in the sequencer it seems I need to re-start the app to get them to appear in the browser window. I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong.
Also in order to loop in the sequencer must I create start / end points ? Maybe that is not available yet. In other words, if I wanted to loop 4 bars for 3 times and then continue on in the timeline is that possible ?
TIA

Basic sequencer questions
Yes, patches have to be entered into the sequencer from the browser, but you could just as well start with an empty patch like the one found in the templates folder and save it with a new name. If you want to add a patch just created in the grid you don't need to re-start, just right-click in the browser and do a re-scan to update the file list.
You can get loops in the sequencer in two ways: If you have a defined structure as in your example, the best thing would probably be to use patch clones; check page 78 in the manual. If on the other you will loop a patch for any number of times, you should use loop markers; see pages 74-75 in the manual.
