Hello, I have recently discovered HH and am impressed at the possibilities it has to offer.

I do a bit of producing in Ableton and Cubase but I spend more time DJing in Traktor or Serato. I know a lot of people who DJ with Ableton (try searching "DJ Ableton" on Youtube to see what I mean), but the greatest limitation of Ableton is the inability to have multiple tracks running independently like in a DJ application; in Ableton everything syncs to the master tempo.

I opened up the audio player preset, and duplicated that rack. I noticed that by adjusting the pitch of each of the players I could get them to "unsync", which makes me think that it would be possible to emulate Traktor/Serato's 2-deck interface.

However, I have no idea how to do this, and searching on google for "hollyhock DJ" only brings up the DJ addon pack. I can't search the forums for "DJ" either because it is too short of a search term! There are only a few things that need to be figured out before this is a possibility!

My ideal setup would be a very similar interface to traktor, which I could then MIDI map to my own USB mixer. From there I could use the DMX module to synchronize light shows (I have a large DMX setup that I bring to shows) to my DJ performances!

that sounds like a cool project, can you explain a bit more about the layout/features of Traktor?
From the website i gather that it is basically 4 "decks" (Audio Players), an FX section and a Media Browser?
I think that playlists may have to be created in the Audio Player themselves.
As soon as I get home I will look into it, I think it is an interesting idea
