Hi,
I would like to questioning you about different alternative to control by foot (or something else) the volume of one microphone in Usine.
I work with a saxophone player who want to modulate the mic input directly from the foot or something like that.
What can you suggest me?
Many Thanks.
Jules.

Hi Jules
You can use a expression pedal connected to a midi device like a midi keyboard fitted with the appropriate pedal input
or make a midi device yourself :

Thanks Oli,
I check the expression pedal.
The korg seems to be the best for me:

My question is how I can connect it in midi.
I use four midi/usb (Akai Lpd8, NanoKontrol Korg, Nanopad KOrg and Novation 25slMkII)
I've got also an RME UCX.
My question is about the connectic because all the pedals are cabled with jack 6.33 and I've got only my RME midi input free with 5Din connector.
I imagine that it's not a problem but I would like to be sure before buy it...
Thanks.
Jules.

according to specs, it seems that Novation 25s SL MK II has input for expression pedal
Connectivity
USB socket (not class compliant)
MIDI IN, OUT and THRU din sockets plus additional MIDI OUT din socket
Sustain pedal 1/4” jack socket
Expression pedal 1/4” jack socket
Power switch Ext DC / USB
so you have to connect that pedal to it

ha yeah, you're right, didn't think there was a jack insert on this controller

That's what I thought but I guess that this pedal input is working only for the keyboard volume, no?
I'm not sure that I can assign some parameters to this pedal thru the Novation...
Thanks Nay about the Usb pedal but I'm not sure that I can connect it far away from my station?
That's the main problem of usb signal, that it cannot possible to use a long distance cable...
The pedal will be not for me but for the musician I work with...

Other thing:
The RME is also a midi interface, but the connectique is DIN5 and not Jack TRS 6,35.
Is it matter?

yes, you can't connect your pedal directly in the RME, or you need another interface like this one

an other solution is a second hand fcb 1010 but bigger and heavy

Thanks for all your advices.
The behringer is an interesting solution because ideally, the musician would like to control several parameters...
An the price is very cheap with a second hand.

The Softstep is intriguing.... Pressure sensitive & directional, allowing you to control multiple parameters with one footpress...
