Hello everybody! Could somebody help me understand how snapshots for automation work in HHII? If I hit the rec automation button and move a fader, I get an automation curve that plays back. When I right-click on its tab I get a window that says “duration settings”, and has a list of user snapshots at the bottom. If I click on the disk icon I can save my automation curve to that list. If I click on one of the snapshots the curve changes, and the fader continues to follow the new curve. If I choose a second snapshot, same thing. Everything is fine up to that point, and would lead me to assume that the snapshots can work like presets or takes.
However, as soon I select a third snapshot, the curve changes, but the fader stops following this automation curve. No matter what I do after that, I can’t get the link back, even if I select the snapshot I just recorded. The curve is still visible and can be edited, but it seem to be orphaned and it doesn’t affect anything anymore. I can only delete it, or record a new one. Is this normal behavior or a bug? It seems rather strange.
Also, is there a way to edit the list of snapshots? The entire list appears every time I record an automation anywhere. And after I’ve selected new snapshots, when I click on the tab of the curve again, the contextual menu shows a list of buttons below the value button (one for every snapshot I selected it seems). When I click on these buttons they show new curves set at zero which can be edited, but they also have no effect on anything, and can't seem to be assigned to anything.
I agree that it would be really useful to be able to rename automation curves, as has already been suggested in other posts. Being able to switch between several snapshots and to edit the list would also be very helpful (assuming it is not already the expected normal behavior).
And finally, what are user curves 1 and 2 in a sampler for? I couldn't find a way to use them to control anything, so I must be missing something... Or are the user curves just for reference?
Thanks!
