Hello,
in the first time trying out usine, I followed the quick start -I did the audio thru example.
it works, as I get audio thru, but the levels of input-output do not match. For any level going in (like 0db), the output is much lower.
Is that a known problem? Or a specific problem with my setup? Cause it makes mixing real difficult if a 0db track does not equal 0db in the master section...
Thanks for responding....
Problems with audio levels
Have you checked the master output level? It defaults to -6 dB.

sorry I am new to usine but what i mean is that usine does not seem to have unity gain, meaning that a track entering at 0db at the inputs will output at a much lower volume even if the master out fader is set at zero
unity gain is 0db = 0db out
when I try it with all faders at zero it outputs something along -10 or -12 db. (with a 0db signal entering at the input)
the same setup in ableton live of course if you input 0db in you will get 0 db out....
so my question is usine has unity gain or is there something I don't get?
thanks

Normally, Usine has a unity gain.
Just tested on my system with a calibration CD
CD 0bB
-> master IN vu meter 0dB
-> track IN gain fader at 0dB
-> track IN vu meter at 0dB
-> track OUT gain fader at 0dB
-> track OUT vu meter at 0dB
-> master OUT gain fader at 0dB
-> master OUT vu meter 0dB
everything seems OK
It should work like that,
If not, which vu meter isn't at 0dB?

the master out modulates a lot lower than it should on my system. again I am a newbie, but it is pretty easy to set all faders at 0.
So I will have to look further and check another time to be sure if all this is correct:
-> master IN vu meter 0dB
-> track IN gain fader at 0dB
-> track IN vu meter at 0dB
-> track OUT gain fader at 0dB
-> track OUT vu meter at 0dB
-> master OUT gain fader at 0dB
-> master OUT vu meter 0dB
and will come back later...
merci Olivier
j'espère expérimenter plus avec usine ce logiciel semble extrèmement intéressant, peut-être je pourrai dépasser les limites de ableton
alors à bientôt...

Hi waverider,
Have you checked that the input trim level (top of the rack) is set to 0db. This can seem dummy but I've actually already had the problem.
Rgds,
B.
