When I recently heard HH3 had been released I was quite excited, having previously been a HH2 user. I liked HH2 except for the GUI..which I found very confusing..I was always doing battle with it...trying to control it.

So when I opened HH3 I was SO disappointed to see it was very similar. Except it's not. Now I have demoed it for a few days. Its a HUGE improvement in GUI workflow. I'm not sure exactly why, but it just works now. Nothing is annoying, the whole 'context' thing is sorted out. HH2 GUI was forever changing depending on where I clicked..and now HH3 still does this context idea but somehow it is more controlled and works really well.

There are so many wonderful unique tools and creations and creative possibilities in Hollyhock that I was sad to abandon it having purchased HH2. But now I am very happy and thanks to to the HH team for all the GUI tweaks and workflow tweaks, though small ...are massive in terms of user experience. (all of this IMHO of course!)

:))

PS I will say this...someone in Sensomusic likes the colour purple! (Not me ..my least favourite)

That is awesome to hear osha!
Yeah purple...although not my favorite color...the shade is cool, and could be a much worse color...haha.

You could just change the color tone of your monitor right....lol
HH4 right, yeah I think Senso and Nay should have a new favorite color by then?
Maybe the themes will expand more :D

I agree like you do though, HH3 yet similar, is yet different....Senso's Magic Code at work.

I started with HH3, then tried out HH2 and somehow it's UI seemed better for me, but then I got back to HH3 and like it better after all. Maybe that's after I was able to get smooth and fast UI with HW acceleration.

The vastness of Hollyhock is overwhelming (in a good way!). How come its such a small team, it's not possible!

Just discovered Usine. Even though it's pretty complicated it seems to 'click' with my way of thinking about music in a way that other DAW's don't. Great job :)

some DAW are for square heads, I won't drop names but...
some have a steep learning curve, like puredata that I love dearly.
Usine give instant results then you can dig as deep as you want !
the team openness is just amazingly unique and fast responding !
Usine is the only DAW that allows me to make live music the way I feel it should be : totally organic !
