Device shown in midi inputs, no midi signal getting in
I have a weird problem with Keith Mc Millen Softstep and another midi device.
They both are shown in the device list but even if I highlight the correspondent box, there is no midi activity getting in and shown in the meters on the top of the screen.
Please note that Midiox shows the devices are properly working so it is simply a problem in Usine.

Hi I know 3 persons who have the same problem...
have you tried to open midi device as patch to check if i/o is correctly wired?

this sounds like a good idea, can you please guide me?x.iso wrote:have you tried to open midi device as patch to check if i/o is correctly wired?
just double-click midi input or output in devices panel and patch window/panel should open with internal wiring of the device, just like patches have. sometimes there are modules present, but wires aren't connected, at least for some reason that happened to audio inputs/outputs sometimes.

thanks for the advice, very useful.
one of the two devices started to work after a reboot of Usine, no way to have Softstep working.

Hi,
No problem here with midi learn. I use often the Keith Mc Millen Softstep without any trouble.
Are you Mac or PC.
I remember having problems many years ago, when I was with windows, if I changed USB port, midi wasn't reconized. But on Mac, very stable, plug and play.
All the best

this is happeening for me as well. it was solved in some version then reappered again.
But it is possible to "hack" it.
Just turn off/discconect your midi devices on HH start.
so in settings you dont have any MIDI devices.
after loading the project open MIDI settings again, turn on/connect your devices. rescan midi devices, enable them.
it's is pretty annoing yeah.
