I have one question. There is a way to record external souuce in sequencer mode like that ?
Im in loop mode between two markers and sequencer plays tracks. I would like to record external source in a track (new patch) in mode loop too. Each time the loop is played a record file is created in hard disk (with the same length of the loop). When I stop record I can choice the best file recording.
Any ideas.

PS: In the last version (3.34) the midi player sequencer has possibility to choose 8 midi files like the piano roll, this is a news feature, Olivier forgot to report this new option.

No, actually there is no way to record audio on the time line like a 'normal' sequencer.

okay, i know close to nothing about the sequencer but couldn't one build such a patch?
a quick sketch:
lets say you have two alternating recording samplers. one records a loop and when it stops the second one starts while the first one saves to a random name. second one stops, first one starts again... and so on...
i guess one needs the "on activation" module to help with triggering the start and stop (i wonder if one needs a dedicated sequencer track for the global automatization of all this - perhaps one needs to control the samplers in the recording patch from another patch using data buses?).
i dont have time to build or test this further right now, but perhaps later... or maybe this gave you some ideas.

Okay here's a patch that you can drag into the sequencer, add loop markers . Then when ready put the Recording On/Off switch On and it should work. Usine will place the files in your WAV-folder (assigned in the Setup window) and give them random names. They will however stay in the file list of the sampler when you're done.
Is this anything like what you needed?

Maybe I should change the location to "file" - would that solve it? or is that not an option?
Also - did you have the same experience that upon loading this patch to the sequencer, the rec2 goes on immediately, even though the On/off switch is off? I can't understand why?
When I get these solved I could surely put it up as an Add-on.

I have tried your patch and I LOVE it !!!
I have two suggestions about this patch but I think it is a job for Olivier.
1/ when sampler module (X1 to X....) save file with "save rand" inlet command it will be cool if there is a possibility to choice a "part" of the name file saved. Actually the names of files saved are : Usine-xxxxx.wav. One new inlet in a sampler module to choice the first part of name will be cool. Then It will be possible to have files saved with better name ( ex: Guitar-xxxxx.wav).
2/ Always with sampler module one option to prohibit the create peak usine image will reduce cpu, in this new patch (loop recorder) one image is created of each record files (a window opens,calculate and close window), I think we can do that later, when the recording is finished.
3/ Antwan, have you got an idea to add the possibility to rec in your new patch all output mix (10 outputs betwen 2 markers too), a sort of mixdown loop ?

If I read you correct, into the patch I provided you want to record the output of many other tracks in the sequencer, combined?
If so:
In all the patches that you want to be recorded into the recorder patch replace the Audio Out module with a Send Audio Bus module. Name the bus for instance "mixdown", give it the same name in all the patches.
In the recording patch, replace the Audio In module with a Get Audio Bus module and name it "mixdown".
This way you should get what you want. The only thing is, depending on the signal level of each output, i guess the levels might be clipping after all these tracks are combined. Might need to lower the levels before sending them into the Send Bus.

I try the Antwan patch this week and this OK, good job. I modify the patch for recording mixdown loop and this OK too (I change samplers x1 in sampler x2 for stéreo recording and it is OK).
Like I said in my precedent post the problem is when the patch is recording or create image file ( at each start or end patch), the sound is not correct in this moment, I think a lot of processor ressources use.... I know my workspace is hard (2 vsti drums loaded in outupt) and a big interface builder with a lot of controls.
What do you think of that Olivier ?

I just now added the patch into add-ons. Sorry, I had completely forgotten to do that. You may need to tweak it to suit your needs but it's very simple.

I have just A P4 dual core ( not core 2 duo) 3,2Ghz, 2 giga ram and several fast hard disk. I dont try whith dual core optimisation because when I chek this option I have some other problem (audio clicks when I use mouse to control parameters in usine, curve volume for exemple, and aleatory audio clicks in audio plays) . I use only usine in sequencer mode.
