and the piece starts I want the wkp to load with the audio engine off and the sequencer unlit - whats the method to insure this?

okay let me do that again - the audio engine is lit as well as the play button on file load - I want the opposite. always

the on/off engine button stays in the state you leave it before the loading of workspace.
When you load a patch, it doesn't affect the play button; Allows you to add patches in your session without turn the engine off.

I still want to launch samples but as far as loading patches in the sense I think you mean I won't do that.
