It could be really usefull, i believe, if we could see all midi assignations to modules, vst and vsti, into one panel as the global remote does...Or more per tracks, or per patch :-)

What do you think of this?

When in patch edit mode, you can get the same type of list for the patch by hitting the [R] button in the upper right (next to the patch name) above the control panel on the right.

Could this button be available in the patch name heading of the grid as well?

Thanks Bsork...

Maybe this thread should be sent to the general discussion forum?

I was looking for this too - wasn't sure how to see/change MIDI assignments for custom patch parameters. Awesome! What does the cryptic [R] mean anyway? :)

Actually, one of the main reasons I was needing to change these MIDI assignments is that I'm having an issue with MIDI channels coming from Cubase through to the Usine VST. For example, I have 2 tracks setup in Usine, each with a separate patch on it (we'll call them "patch 1" and "patch 2"). I want MIDI CC 20 in a Cubase automation lane to control either patch 1 or patch 2 based on the MIDI channel I'm sending the CC automation on. I can get it to control patch 1 just fine by doing a MIDI learn, but learning on patch 2 while sending CC 20 on channel 2 ends up learning a channel 1 CC for some reason.

What am I doing wrong? Changing the Remote mode from "No MIDI channel mapping" to "MIDI channel = track number" doesn't seem to help.

Thanks for any help you can provide! Loving Usine otherwise and excited to get this figured out so I can use it as a killer effects chainer with my BCF2000. :)

hello, welcome on the forum
[R] means 'Remote'

Normally in 'MIDI channel = track number' mode the track 1 receives MIDI from channel 1 only, track 2 from channel 2, etc. So it should work directly?

If you have deep problems with midi, you can filter an re-route MIDI msg to Usine with 'Send MIDI to Usine' module. But this discussion should be continued in the "patching questions" area

Thanks for the quick reply!

I guess now that I know how to correct the MIDI learn assignments via the 'Remote' button, this isn't a huge issue. Nevertheless, it would seem MIDI learn functionality in the VST version of Usine is a bit buggy (at least, with Cubase as host). I'd sum up the issues I'm seeing as follows:

- MIDI learn takes all CCs as channel 1, even when coming on other channels from host (Cubase)

- The 'MIDI channel = track number' mode setting does not affect above behaviour whatsoever

Can anyone else confirm that these issues exist in the VST version of Usine?

Further details: I'm running Cubase 5 with Usine (4.22e) inserted as a VST effect on an FX channel. I've created two separate MIDI tracks in Cubase routing MIDI out to the Usine VST on channels 1 and 2, respectively. For testing purposes, I'm simply sending CC 10 automation from each MIDI track.

Thanks again for the help and the great software. I've been looking for something this flexible for ages - Ableton Live certainly didn't cut it!
