Currently the only context menu option for cabling text ins and outs is 'text'
It would be nice to have data in and out, and buss send and receive options.
Is there a way to do this just by editing the templates?? I'm still trying to figure out how they work.
I'd love to change the template for opening a vst.....

Yes, you just have to edit the templates. For exemple, to create a module data out from a text module (text out parameter), you should have:
Data inlet
* // file name ext ('wav', 'usr', etc...)
2 // none=0,in=1,out=2
7 // term flowtype (ftNone=0,ftPCM=1,ftInternText=2,ftData=3,ftMIDI=4,ftArray=5,ftUser=6,ftEvtText=7,ftPointer=8,ftIntern=9,ftOther=maxInt)
0 12 // term display flow type (dftText=0,dftgain=1,dftDir=2,dftSwitch=3,dftButton=4,dFtInt=5,dftFloat=6,dftColor=7,dftListBox=8,dftArray=9,dftIpAddress=10,dftSmpte=11,dftFileName=12,dftMidiNote=13)
* // termainal name can be '*' or "any string"
SET_TARGET_PATCH SENDER_PATCH
CREATE_MODULE data1 21 MOUSE_X MOUSE_Y
CREATE_LINK SRC_MODULE SRC_TERM_NUM data1 out
RENAME_MODULE data1
Save it accordingly to the existing templates. For exemple "textout03-dataIn", if you have yet two templates for "textout"....
I don't know if you can create a template to load directly a vst, but you can load a patch with templates. Templates use the Internal Message Langage (p222 in the manual).
Data inlet
* // file name ext ('wav', 'usr', etc...)
2 // none=0,in=1,out=2
7 // term flowtype (ftNone=0,ftPCM=1,ftInternText=2,ftData=3,ftMIDI=4,ftArray=5,ftUser=6,ftEvtText=7,ftPointer=8,ftIntern=9,ftOther=maxInt)
0 12 // term display flow type (dftText=0,dftgain=1,dftDir=2,dftSwitch=3,dftButton=4,dFtInt=5,dftFloat=6,dftColor=7,dftListBox=8,dftArray=9,dftIpAddress=10,dftSmpte=11,dftFileName=12,dftMidiNote=13)
* // termainal name can be '*' or "any string"
SET_TARGET_PATCH SENDER_PATCH
CREATE_MODULE data1 21 MOUSE_X MOUSE_Y
CREATE_LINK SRC_MODULE SRC_TERM_NUM data1 out
RENAME_MODULE data1

Okay, i have data ins and outs working, but I can't figure out how to address the buss ports, so the cable will get created.
IN and OUT do not work.
Here's templates for the data in and out if anybody wants them. These seem to work fine.

Here's a template to create a bus send module from a text out, and automatic renaming of your bus accordingly to your text:
The "Get Bus" module ID is 114, and the template is:
Code: Select all
Send Bus
* // file name ext ('wav', 'usr', etc...)
2 // none=0,in=1,out=2
7 // term flowtype (ftNone=0,ftPCM=1,ftInternText=2,ftData=3,ftMIDI=4,ftArray=5,ftUser=6,ftEvtText=7,ftPointer=8,ftIntern=9,ftOther=maxInt)
0 12 // term display flow type (dftText=0,dftgain=1,dftDir=2,dftSwitch=3,dftButton=4,dFtInt=5,dftFloat=6,dftColor=7,dftListBox=8,dftArray=9,dftIpAddress=10,dftSmpte=11,dftFileName=12,dftMidiNote=13)
* // termainal name can be '*' or "any string"
SET_TARGET_PATCH SENDER_PATCH
CREATE_MODULE bus1 113 MOUSE_X MOUSE_Y
CREATE_LINK SRC_MODULE SRC_TERM_NUM bus1 "NO NAME"
SET_STRING_VALUE bus1 name SRC_VALUE_STRING
RENAME_MODULE bus1Code: Select all
Get Bus
* // file name ext ('wav', 'usr', etc...)
1 // none=0,in=1,out=2
7 // term flowtype (ftNone=0,ftPCM=1,ftInternText=2,ftData=3,ftMIDI=4,ftArray=5,ftUser=6,ftEvtText=7,ftPointer=8,ftIntern=9,ftOther=maxInt)
0 12 // term display flow type (dftText=0,dftgain=1,dftDir=2,dftSwitch=3,dftButton=4,dFtInt=5,dftFloat=6,dftColor=7,dftListBox=8,dftArray=9,dftIpAddress=10,dftSmpte=11,dftFileName=12,dftMidiNote=13)
* // termainal name can be '*' or "any string"
SET_TARGET_PATCH SENDER_PATCH
CREATE_MODULE bus1 114 MOUSE_X MOUSE_Y
CREATE_LINK bus1 "get bus" SRC_MODULE SRC_TERM_NUM
SET_STRING_VALUE bus1 name SRC_VALUE_STRING
RENAME_MODULE bus1Seb.Dub

great. The word I needed was 'name'. But then I realized I could look at other templates. Duh....
But is there a way to find the titles of the ins and outs of a module? Besides looking for a reference in another template? I got all the module numbers from the wiki....
Thanks!
