MIDI Matrix Note Off

When I turn off the MIDI matrix if there was a lingering note-on without a note off, then it doesn't turn off. I've been paring a 'from 1 to 0' with an all midi notes off. Am I using the matrix wrong or is this the best way to handle it? Should there be a note off associated with the MIDI matrix to deal with this?
