Another Important suggestion
when you exchange a song wtith another computer (for another musician of your band, for exemple) and if this other computer has not the same hard disk organisation (letters and names) patches loaded are empty waves because the song.wkp contains all path to waves files.
ONE SOLUTION and suggestion:
When you load a song.wkp, if Usine dont find waves files (because they have creataed in another computer with diferent hard disk organisation) Usine will open a browser window to chose the file who contains all audio files of the song.
After the song was correctly loaded we can save it with news parameters.
What about that ?
Thanks and sorry for my english.

I know what you mean.
It works like that in Reaktor.
Actually, when a wave file is missing, Usine try to find it, in the order:
1) in the original folder (stored in the sampler module)
2) in the folder of the patch.
3) in the demo folder.
I'll try to implement your suggestion.
It shouldn't be so hard.

I have my .wav files in the same .wkp folder, and if I'm moving the folder around on my hard disk, Usine can't find the files anymore, so it would be nice to have Usine find the files when they are in the .wkp folder, althought I move the folder around;
also, it would be nice a "Move media in folder project" option when saving, as in Reaper
thank you
idea: i'd prefer the rather unpopular way of (optionally) storing samples within a .wkp. orion does this, also buffersynth vst by ndc (saves within .fxp). similarily cubase allows to easily archive media pools.
it does of course bloat .wkp (or .pat) files: if u deal with large wavs (additionaly the same wavs across different projects) its not a pretty solution. personally as a synthesis purist I rarely use large wavs, rather a lot of tiny files. in my experience, vainly opening older projects fails mostly always cause of lost samples - lost plugins can be found again, lost vst settings can be recreated to get back to a similar sound.
=> free the user from keeping track of sample paths, plus being aware of never changing a sample that was once used in a project.
just my 2 cents. dont think its wanted by the majority, however wanted to throw it in.

...or the 3dsmax behaviour kind of both:
when not finding a file it let you specify a folde,r and then you can enable "use all subpath"
that way if we put all our files in ie demoour_project1 clicing on demo path will make the soft search all subpath to find the files.
then resaving store new paths.
there is also another feature i suse a lot in max that "make archive": it collects all the files needed in scene (aka workspace)
and save the workspace+allfiles in a zip. would be very useful to share workspace/ upload addons ect...
then if we dezip the file in a folder, max will commit subpath relating to that folder. quite efficient after 5 years of using it.

and what about vst / vsti....?
...not easy.....
...not easy.....
patches could be saved automatically (best case: fxp format)nay-seven wrote:and what about vst / vsti....?

dll's itself: impossible (unless its a single dll file without registration).
