It could be useful if the Send MIDI to Usine module could have a target parameter similar to busses, to have the option to contain the MIDI DATA within the current patch or sub patch. It would simplify the use of mapping Usine to multiple MIDI devices that may send the same MIDI messages on the same channel.

This is something that senso says they are thinking carefully about -- not necessarily this exact thing, but the MIDI routing in HH in general.

It always feels like something huge is around the corner, but the updates haven't been too radical (outside of the GUI) recently. I hope that means we are getting a huge update with at least ReWire and the new MIDI routing. It's tough without a clear roadmap, as every update comes out but doesn't meet the bigger things we've been waiting for.

That said, senso has been adding easy requests from me in the last few updates, so I'm pretty happy.

Ok, good to know. I am new to Hollyhock as I had been holding off migrating my work from v5, so I am a bit out of the loop for what has been previously discussed. So far I am quite happy with Hollyhock, a lot of great improvements and nothing that I see as a show stopper.
Regarding MIDI routing, I prefer it to be as flexible as routing audio, which since v5 has seen massive improvement so nothing to complain about really, but I think it it never hurts to make suggestions for what I perceive as improved workflow / functionality, and I'm full of them.. :)

Of course! Glad to see HH is becoming attractive to v5 users. I think that's an important moment for the new version. I didn't mean it to say "it's been discussed, so shut up", but rather that senso is on it. That way he doesn't have to reply directly, and can stay on it :)

Hmm.. Well I did just now run into the exact problem I was fearing of overlapping MIDI CC values / channels from devices. I have an Elektron Analog Four that sends/receives CC for track mutes on CC# 94 across 6 MIDI channels, and an Elektron Analogue Rytm that sends/receives CC for track mutes on CC# 94 across 12 channels, so obviously some overlap.
There are definitely workarounds in Usine such as unpacking the MIDI input and sending values to binds, bussing the MIDI in and unpacking it to directly control a switch, remapping the values at the inputs and again at the outputs etc but these things make me use two different methods to accomplish the same goals throughout my workspace which can lead to confusion when troubleshooting or modifying patches at a later date, and led to some confusion just now before I realized what was happening.
Anyways, just food for thought.
