Imagine that Sensomusic find a hardware constructor, and then, they build a machine dedicated to usine. A small box with a hardrive , 2 in 2out and midi In /Out, and a USB port to send patches, a LCD to load workspace, that' all. Just a box to play our patches with no edition capabilities . Simple and cheap.
Do you remember the clavia micro modular?
Mmmmmmm....
My dream.
kind of 5 times cheaper lemur? maybe soon we ll be able to afford multitouch "cheap" laptops like eeepc..
and then usine will be the ultimate lemur alternative.

I wait this with "impatience" :

Your Usine in the pocket (ok a big pocket
)
It's 8,9 inch screen and it's pretty tiny!
For me it's like a mini lab sound! with Usine. like a Mpc 500 but with no limit ! and touchable !!!( it's my vision of this netbook use)

Terrific...
But the problem is always the same : a low latency sound card is needed, that's means that you have to buy one notebook AND a sound card ! Usine in the pocket?? Not sure.
I think about a kind of little box for musician ( guitarist, bassist, ect...) , they don't really need a screen, just some foot controllers.
Build your patches with a 8.9 inch screen ...this is not very practical in my opinion.
I know the V-machine box http://www.smproaudio.com/produkte/v-machines.html , but the audio input is very cheap. And, will it be usine compatible? That's the question.
