I have been using the 'load patch' module to load patches in realtime while a resampled loop plays from the master section but now I would like to start working with more tracks so this method is overly time consuming and confusing with too many tracks.
It would be nice if the Usine audio engine doesn't turn off completely during workspace load so that I can continue playing the resampled loop from the master section while all the workspace loads.
Icing on the cake would be if I could also 'lock' specific tracks so that they would remain constant while the rest of the workspace reloaded (similar to how the master section already works)
any chance of getting this tomorrow.I'll bake you a cake
lol, just kidding of course...

Good idea, but totally impossible!
we can't load a patch an play it at the same time.
I don't have the solution.

How about instead the ability to save and load multiple tracks/patches as one file? I know I can do this per track with the 'load patch' module while the audio from the master section continues to play uninterrupted.
I can do a complete workspace reload with Usine VST while Live continues to play the resampled audio, but it would be nice to be able to do something similar in Usine without Live, and also sometimes Molar VSTI (Which I use in almost everything) loses connectivity to the Monome after I reload it...

I understand your pb but I don't have the solution.
Perhaps you can create a patch with several 'load patch' modules?

using a second computer might be an option?
i wouldnt (anymore..) go gigging with a computer without a second audio device for loading intermissions or as backup for computer failures anyway.

Well, not impossible...I can load two copies of Usine VST into Usine and put all of my static modules and VST's that I don't want to reload when I load a workspace in each VST instances master section tracks and then load workspaces from each Usine VST without stopping the audio from the other Usine VST...
This isn't the most glamorous workaround as I lose the unified interface and navigating three Usine's at once is confusing, especially when freshly loaded workspaces automaticly maximize to fit the whole screen.
Sorry, I like to make Usine do things it is not supposed to, but with a very fast computer it is totally possible to load huge workspaces and have uninterrupted audio continue playing!

you could look at maxivista--it's a dynamic kvm switcher.... just to make your workaround a tiny bit easier. One usine on each screen. It even supports copy paste between the systems if they are networked.

amiga909, woodslanding,
thanks for the multiple computers suggestion but I am more or less hellbent on finding one computer solutions.
Keeping setup and gear needed for my rather complex setup at a minimal is my goal so messing around with two computers at once doesn't really appeal, as well as it doesn't work in most situations as I may need duplicate hardware controllers, sound generators and audio/midi interfaces, and in some cases, duplicate software licences.
Also, in my experience, any UI interfacing over LAN never has the reponse that is needed for realtime music interaction.
I have methods that work well enough for now, I am just always looking for better ways to do things so I may end up making crazy feature suggestions in the search for my optimal setup...
Right now I kind of twiddle my thumbs a bit and wait to see what new usefull stuff v5 offers...
